Frequently Asked Questions
How do I buy something?
Open a listing, tap Buy now, and pay securely by card. You’ll get an order confirmation email right away. Your card is authorized at checkout (a pending charge appears on your statement) and is only actually captured when the seller commits to the order — either by printing the shipping label or when you confirm pickup.
When is my card actually charged?
At checkout, your card gets a pending authorization — like the deposit a hotel takes when you check in. Your bank reserves the amount but doesn’t actually charge you yet.
The pending charge becomes a real charge when:
- For shipped orders — the moment the seller prints the shipping label.
- For local pickup — when you click Confirm pickup after meeting the seller.
Until one of those happens, your card hasn’t been charged. If 5 days pass without the seller shipping (or you confirming pickup), the authorization is released automatically and you owe nothing.
Are there any fees for buyers?
No. You pay the listing price, shipping, and applicable sales tax — that’s it. No buyer fees and no service charges.
How do I sell on Axelnest?

Can I cancel my order after purchase?
Yes — if the order hasn’t shipped yet (or, for local pickup, hasn’t been confirmed yet), you can cancel it directly from your Purchases page. Because your card is only authorized (not actually charged) until the seller commits to the order, cancellation simply releases the pending charge — you were never charged and the listing goes back on the marketplace.
Once the seller has printed a shipping label, the order is in motion and can no longer be cancelled. If something’s wrong once it arrives, see Hassle-Free Returns.
What if my item doesn’t arrive or isn’t as described?
Your payment is held while the item is in transit. Once delivered — or, for local pickup, once you confirm receipt — you have 3 days to request a return if anything’s wrong. If the carrier never marks the item as delivered after 14 days, our team will step in to help. If you and the seller can’t reach a resolution on a return, we’ll mediate fairly. How do returns work?
- Request a return from your Axelnest account within 3 days of delivery.
- Once the seller approves, print a return label instantly right from your Axelnest dashboard.
- Drop it off at any USPS or UPS location.
- Get refunded once the seller confirms the item has been received in its original condition.
Return shipping is paid by the buyer, and the cost is shown before you print the label. Your refund is the item price minus the return shipping cost.
Who pays for shipping?
Shipping is paid by the buyer and appears as a line item at checkout, before you commit. The seller prints the label right from their Axelnest dashboard — no extra steps, no third-party logins. For returns, return shipping is also paid by the buyer.
Can I message a seller before buying?
Yes. Message a seller directly from any listing to ask about sizing, condition, photos, or anything else before you buy. Open communication helps everyone feel confident about the transaction.
Do you serve skaters outside Utah?
Yes! Our marketplace is open to figure skating families across the United States. Our rink information currently focuses on Utah, but we’re growing — tell us where you skate and what would help most.
How does Axelnest protect against scams?
- Stripe secures all payments with bank-level encryption and fraud screening.
- Funds are held until the buyer confirms receipt, so sellers can’t be paid for items that aren’t delivered.
- Axelnest mediates disputes between buyers and sellers for fair outcomes.
