Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect the information you give us.

1. Overview

Axelnest is a community platform for figure skaters and their families. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Axelnest you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account data: email address, password (hashed), or Google account identifier when you sign up.
• Profile data: name, phone, date of birth, display name, optional avatar.
• Marketplace data: listings you post (title, description, photos, price, condition, category), shipping address (for sellers), and buyer/seller messages.
• Reviews: ratings and written feedback you leave on completed orders.
• Skater profiles: the first name or nickname, skating level, and avatar you provide for each skater you add to your account. Skater profiles are created and controlled by the account-holding parent or guardian (see Section 9).
• Off-ice training data: routines and exercises entered by you (or entered by you on behalf of a coach) — names, timings, notes, and attribution labels — plus practice schedules and each skater’s practice activity: sessions completed, minutes practiced, streaks, and badges earned.
• Exercise photos: photos you attach to exercises as movement reminders. Photos are resized on your device before upload, which removes embedded camera metadata such as location, and are stored at unguessable public web addresses so they can display in the training app.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited, collected through standard server and analytics logs.
• Local storage: small amounts of data kept in your browser to remember sign-in state, current page, and form drafts.

Information from third parties

• Google sign-in: when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email, and profile photo as permitted by your Google account.
• Stripe: when you sell or buy, Stripe shares limited transaction metadata (such as payment confirmation, payout status, and last four digits of payment methods). Full card numbers are never sent to or stored by Axelnest.
• Shippo: when shipping labels are purchased we receive tracking numbers and delivery status updates.

3. How We Use Information

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Process marketplace transactions (payment, shipping, payouts, returns).
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets, security notices).
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal data. We share information only as follows:

Sharing with your coach: you may link your skater to a coach on Axelnest. This is always your action — you enter the coach’s code, review a disclosure screen describing exactly what will be shared, and the coach then approves the request. A linked coach can see your skater’s first name and avatar, and — for the routines that coach assigns — when your skater completes them and how long each took. That is effort information only: no scores or comparisons. A coach never sees your skater’s streaks or badges, your other routines, schedules, uploaded photos, or account details. Routines a coach assigns are viewed from the coach’s account — they are not copied to yours and remain the coach’s content. You can disconnect a coach at any time, which immediately ends their access. We record when you consented and the version of the disclosure you accepted.

In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify you and apply this Privacy Policy to the transferred data unless you agree otherwise.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Axelnest uses browser local storage to remember your sign-in session, current page, and small preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. Some embedded third-party services (Stripe, Google) may set their own cookies as required for their function.

6. Data Storage & Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Supabase’s infrastructure with row-level security policies that scope access to the appropriate user. We follow industry-standard practices, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period unless we are required to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, Stripe transaction records).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children’s Privacy

Some parts of Axelnest — in particular the Off-Ice Buddy training app — are designed for families to use together with skaters who may be under 13. Those surfaces are built around parental control:

• Accounts belong to adults. Children do not create accounts. A parent or legal guardian creates skater profiles inside their own account, provides all profile information, and controls it entirely.
• We collect the minimum. For each skater we store only what the parent provides (a first name or nickname, skating level, and avatar) and practice activity generated by using the training app (sessions completed, minutes practiced, streaks, and badges). We do not collect a child’s contact information, precise location, or browsing profile.
• No ads or third-party trackers on kid-facing screens. The training app’s kid-facing pages carry no advertising and load no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
• Parents stay in control. A parent can review, edit, or delete a skater profile — including all of its practice history — at any time from their account, or by emailing us at the address below.
• Sharing with a coach is the parent’s choice. A coach sees a skater’s practice activity only after the parent explicitly links and approves that coach (see Section 4), and the parent can disconnect the coach at any time, ending access immediately.

Outside of parent-managed skater profiles, Axelnest accounts are not directed to children: you must be 13 or older to create an account, and skaters under 18 should use Axelnest under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

Axelnest is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. where our servers and providers are located.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material we will notify you (for example, by email or an in-app banner) before it takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
